What a week!

Last week was soo much fun. I love this time of year; BBQ's, picnics, boating, vacations, etc.
Last Friday we had an end of the year party for Abigale's preschool by having a picnic at Settler's Park. The park is a lot of fun. It has water fountains and a huge playground. We were not able to stay as long as we would have liked because of other plans, but it was a great way to end preschool for the summer. (Not the best pics, but you get the idea)
Last Saturday, our friends were nice enough to invite us to go boating with them and it was a blast. Jonathan was so happy to be on the water again and I am happy I survived the tubes without killing myself. We were all a little sore the next day but it was well worth it. Abigale loved the boat but did not like the life jacket and Lydia is the most easy going baby that she just smiled the whole time and took a nice nap.

Jonathan somehow talked Abigale into getting in the tube and she liked it until water got in her face: The three stooges!
Yes, that is me in the middle! (Thanks Holly for the pictures)Last Sunday, my parents came over for dinner and that is always a treat! We have learned that we cannot tell Abigale they are coming until five minutes before they come or else she just sits in front of the window and asks us every 5 seconds when they are coming. The weather was perfect and we loved playing outside.
I LOVE this pictureAbigale flexing her muscles I have to thank my parents this last week for babysitting so much for us! On Wednesday, Abigale stayed the night at their house so that I could go to my friends birthday party at a fondue restaurant (yummy!!) and Jonathan went to his friends house with Lydia. Thursday, they babysat some more so that we could go the temple (it had been too long!) and on Friday night they came over so that we could go play lazer tag and hang out with a group of friends. I feel like we neglected our children all week but I know Abigale loved it and hopefully it was fun for them too!
After the crazy week this is how I found Abigale and Jonathan Saturday night and I had to take pictures!
I just noticed that I am not really in any of the pics so here is one of me to show that I am alive! (Yes, Lydia is bigger then Abigale!)

6 months! But which is Lydia?

My family doesnt think that Abigale and Lydia look very much alike. They think that Abigale looks more like Jonathan and Lydia looks more like me but when I look at baby pictures they look pretty similiar to me. What do you think? Both look adorable to me but I am a little biased!

Mothers Day

I definitely got spoiled on Mothers Day and I loved every second of it. It was so nice to have a day when I could get away with taking a nap, not changing diapers, making breakfast, laying in bed and not feel guilty. Jonathan started the day off right with bringing me breakfast in bed. Crepes with homemade strawberry jam and whipped cream! Yum! He gave me beautiful flowers and a card that Abigale helped decorate and a new patio set. I love it and know that we will get a lot of use out of it this summer. Some days I still can't believe that I am a mother but I am so grateful that I have two beautiful girls. They bring me so much joy, and some days pain, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Dont mind how awesome I look, I really just woke up.
The Patio Set!Just some pretty pictures of spring in our backyard:
Our Garden: We got so excited this year to have our own garden that we planted about a month early. We had a few nights of frost which is why there is plastic on the ground so we can quickly cover the plants. So far they are growing just fine so maybe we will get some tomotoes earlier this year.

Wisdom Teeth

My wisdom teeth are what I am blaming my lack of blogging on because I finally got them out last week. It was an interesting experience because I decided to have my dentist do it and not be knocked out but just numbed (it was much cheaper this way). Although I was very nervous and thought my jaw would break a few times, I am actually very glad I did it this way. I just turned my ipod up really loud and breathed in the gas. Recovery was much faster which is vital with two kiddos. I ate a lot of ice cream, pudding, yogurt, and smoothies but think I am finally fully recovered. My mom helped me out soo much. She came every day and even got Abigale to stay the night at her house one night which helped out a ton and I know Abigale had a blast. My mom is amazing. She stayed all week with me then left last Thursday to be with my Grandma because she hurt her back and is in a lot of pain. My sister has also been really sick lately so she left at 5:00 am on Saturday to catch a shuttle to the airport and fly to Chicago to take care of her! Thanks mom for everything you do! I feel so blessed to have you as my mom.

Happy Easter!

We had such a fun Easter. We started the morning by seeing what the Easter Bunny had left for Abigale. Can you just see the excitement? This is what she saw when she opened the door. She was so excited but she kept wanting to look for the Easter Bunny. My parents were in town so we were able to go to church with them where Jonathan and I (mostly Jonathan) were able to teach 7-8 year olds about the meaning of Easter. It was a great lesson and reminder of how important this holiday really is. We then went back to our house for
games:
Yummy food:
Cute Lydia in new clothes:
Enjoying the beautiful weather and trying out the new bike:
Watching Lydia try out the jumper and I think she liked it:
We had such a fun day but we also had a great week leading up to Easter:

We went to a neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt where we saw the Easter bunny, decorated cupcakes, colored pictures, played games and of course found easter eggs. It was a little cold but Abigale loved it.

We were lucky enough to have Jonathan's dad in town so we put him to work in helping us dye Easter Eggs. Abigale loved it but Lydia wasn't that excited.
We also went with some friends to a city Easter Egg Hunt at the local mall. It was a little crazy but Abigale got a lot of eggs and loved running around picking up candy.

This week was very busy but so much fun. I love this time of year and am so grateful for my Savior and all He did for me. All day I was thinking about Elder Holland's talk in conference and while Easter Egg Hunts and decorating eggs are fun, it is so important to remember why we really celebrate Easter. I am so grateful for my family. While some days as a mom can be very challenging, I feel so blessed to have these two little girls in my life!
